Wyong Tips for Wednesday, December 13

Our form expert provides Wyong tips for today’s horse racing at Wyong Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.3  NORTHUMBRIA  ($6 with Neds)

Warwick Farm galloper, NORTHUMBRIA, makes his Wyong debut today and unbeaten since changing trainers, he looks well placed here to bring-up the hat-trick. Formerly with the James Cummings stable, the Exceed And Excel gelding has won his only two starts with new trainer Richard Litt. The four-year-old came off a first-up Maiden win at Goulburn, then last start, franked that effort with a win in a strong BM68 field with his first look at his new home track with Tyler Schiller aboard. Schiller sticks with him here and after both wins came on top of the ground, today’s conditions are ideal for him again. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and looks a tad ‘overs’ with the bagmen in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.6  MISTRESS  ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)

The John O’Shea-trained MISTRESS is second-up today and in an open affair, looks a genuine contender for the main prize. Last start, the More Than Ready mare was resuming off a lengthy six-month absence when she fared well, finishing third in a BM64 Hcp over 150mm at Newcastle. Tyler Schiller was aboard that day and sticks with the mare for this assignment. She maps to settle back in the field today and has a win over the mile already on her resume (with Schiller in the saddle). Fitter for that first-up effort, she can play a leading role in the outcome here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4:  No.9  FLEETWOOD  ($8 with bet365)

James Cummings saddles-up FLEETWOOD here who is third-up and poised for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Encryption colt was ridden a treat by Josh Parr and led from barrier to box, holding off a determined challenge from Zouprince. That made it four-straight podium finishes from the three-year-old who can only strip fitter today. Parr sticks with him today and from gate four, the Godolphin colt probably leads. If he is left alone to dictate the speed, he may prove hard to run down again.
