In top-shelf form of late, the Damien Lane-trained RED COBRA boasts a strong home-track record here and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Sebring gelding came off a hat-trick of runner-up finishes when he finally cracked-it for his maiden win, here over the mile trip. Anna Roper was aboard for her fourth-straight ride when she wound him up from the tail of the field to pass them all in the run home and cross the line a length clear of the field. He steps-up a grade today but now a track and distance winner, and with Roper remaining in the saddle, he looks every chance of going back-to-back today.

Race 3:  No.3  FLYING RANI  ($3.20 with bet365)

Warwick Farm galloper FLYING RANI is off to a flying start with two impressive efforts to start her racing career and looks set for a win at her Wyong debut today. Last start, the Flying Artie filly went one better from her first-start second at Gosford when she drew the outside gate (11) and still managed to put away her maiden rivals in the 1100m contest. Travelling wide (without cover) all the way, Zac Lloyd remained calm and got her to the line, a length ahead of them with some to spare. She draws so much better today in gate two as Llyod sticks with her for this assignment. She maps to be box-seating on settling and will have the jump on the speed in the run home. Clearly the one to beat here.

Race 7:  No.6  STENSON WALLMAN  ($12 with Palmerbet)

Local galloper STENSON WALLMAN is second-up today and with a little more luck in running, he can bounce back here. Last start, the Invader colt was travelling well on the fence but as they turned for home he was severely hampered by two others, forcing Chad Schofield to stop riding him, which cost him several lengths in momentum and any chance of winning. Down slightly in grade here, he draws nicely again in gate three and maps to be box-seating on settling. Having his first ‘race-start’ on home soil today, he is reunited with Koby Jennings who steered him to his maiden win at Muswellbrook and avoiding any hold-ups today, he can figure here at odds.
