BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 9 No. 1 MR BRIGHTSIDE – ($2.20)

Some big names step out in the PB Lawrence Stakes and MR BRIGHTSIDE can open up his spring campaign with a win. The Hayes-trained galloper comes off a successful Doncaster Mile (1600m) campaign and represents the class in this race. At his first up run last time, the six-year-old was 5th in the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) behind Jacquinot, beaten just under a length. Tempo looks genuine here and that should suit. I expect him to be rounding them up late in the piece. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 4 No 8 FLYING ON A LIMB- ($5)

FLYING ON A LIMB can continue her impressive run of form when she steps out in Race 4. The Clinton McDonald-trained galloper has won her past three and comes in with a freshen up after winning well over the 1000m here on June 24. She overcame traffic that day to clear ahead of Katsu, going a very healthy 10.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is six lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. Early market support suggests that she is ready for this and Ben Melham jumps back on board.

Race 6 No. 1 BANDERSNATCH – ($5.75)

Race 6 sees the sprinters tackle the Regal Roller Stakes over the 1200m and keen on BANDERSNATCH at his first run back from a spell. The Team Hawkes-trained galloper was excellent up against some big names at his last preparation and was last seen in the All Aged Stakes (1400m), finishing 4th behind Giga Kick. At his first run of his last preparation, the seven-year-old was 3rd behind Think About It at Group 3 level. Damien Oliver rides and the pair draw perfectly in barrier 4.
