Race 2 No. 12 SUNSETS – ($3.85)

Giving SUNSETS another chance in Race 2 of the day at Donald. Another from the Busuttin/Young stable, he was a shade disappointing as a $3.40 favourite at Bendigo on August 10 when fading into 5th position behind Roadie. He worked hard in the early stages to lead at a solid tempo before going down in the last 200m. Form prior to that was excellent at Sandown with a runner-up performance behind Ambassadorial, while this looks easier and he will strip fitter. Blinkers go on and John Allen jumps on board.

Race 8 No 16 CHAPPELLI – ($13)

Hoping CHAPPELLI sneaks into the field in Race 8. The fourth emergency comes in with an improved showing at his most recent start when third up, finishing 4th behind Vincenzo at Kembla Grange. He has been transferred to the Aaron Purcell stables since then and was consistent with the fitness under his belt at his last preparation, finishing in the top four in six of seven runs. The five-year-old comes in with five weeks in between runs and draws to save plenty of ground from the inside barrier. Worth thought at the each-way quote.
