Race 7 No. 9 GRINZINGER ANGEL- ($2.60)

Nice return by GRINZINGER ANGEL to take out her Maiden at Casterton over the 1100m on September 10 and the Danny O’Brien-trained galloper can make it back to back wins here. She was stepping out for just her third career start that day and cleared out win by five lengths, easing down late to go 0.3 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is more than six lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. The daughter of Harry Angel battled when second up at her initial preparation but that came at Listed level in Adelaide and she looks to have come back in good order.

Race 4 No. 10 BON MISTRESS- ($3.20)

BON MISTRESS shapes as a major player in Race 4. The promising filly has had just the two career runs and resumed off a nine-week break with a 4th at Sandown behind Furious. The Ken & Kasey Keys-trained galloper settled back in that race and did a few things wrong before knuckling down late in the piece to go 2.3 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any runner in this race has produced and nearly six lengths better than the best last start figure of any runner. Any improvement off that and she should be hard to beat. Blaike McDougall rides and is four from 14 for the stable, providing a 134% profit on turnover.
