Race 2 No. 12 SPLENDID CHAP – ($6)

SPLENDID CHAP can just about shake the maiden tag in Race 2. The Archie Alexander-trained galloper is yet to win in 10 starts but has placed in six of those and has been close up on Synthetic tracks of late. The four-year-old went close at this stage of his past preparation when runner-up at Warrnambool and the large claim gets him down to a winnable weight.

Race 8 No 6 SACRED BULL – ($7)

SACRED BULL should find this easier than a last start effort that saw him battle into 9th placing at Moonee Valley. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper endured a tough run out wide on a day that played into the hands of those on the fence. He was posted without cover before fading. Prior to that, the four-year-old claimed his Maiden at Bairnsdale in dominant fashion. Back in grade, he can make his presence felt here.
