Race 4: National Jockeys Trust Hcp (C2) — 13:29, 1520m
There are two ways to frame this: Sh’bourne Power is either a handicapper about to get found out, or a horse that’s simply better than this grade and keeps doing what it’s done all prep. I’m firmly in the second camp. Sh’bourne Power comes in off back-to-back wins (6311), gets a draw that lets Kirra-Lee Lane put him in the race (barrier 6), and the stable angle stacks up: Shaun Nichols does well at Hobart in limited opportunities, and this horse in particular seems to lift here.
