Moe Tips for Sunday, September 28

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 4 No. 11 TREASURE ’N’ BLOOD- ($3.65)

TREASURE ’N’ BLOOD can break the maiden tag when she steps out in Race 4. The four-year-old has had four runs this time in and has been close up in all of those. She missed out by half a length behind Akrotiri at Sandown over the 1500m two starts ago and at her most recent start, the Logan McGill-trained galloper tackled a BenchMark 70 over the 1600m at Sandown and was 3rd behind The Marg Factor, producing the fastest last 200m in the process. That form looks good for this and it is worth noting that the runner-up out of that was Foreign Raider, who has since come out and won well at Flemington. With even luck from barrier 11, she should be hard to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 5 No 9 BLOOMING EDGE- ($4.30)

BLOOMING EDGE is a serious player in Race 5 of the day. The three-year-old has been crunched in the early betting and was scratched at the barrier at Flemington last Sunday in the Victoria Derby Trial (1800m). He had the two runs prior to that for a 3rd placing at Sale on debut over the 1728m before working home well behind Jennivamoose at Geelong over the 1765m in what has proven to be an ok form race. The son of Fiorente went three lengths slower than standard in that run, which is more than four lengths better than the best last start figures of any runner. Step up to the 2000+ looks like it will suit.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 2 SACRED KIWI- ($5.60)

SACRED KIWI can go close in the final race of the day. The seven-year-old has been excellent this time with two wins. Those came at Donald and Warracknabeal. He was tried at Caulfield last Saturday and wasn’t disgraced when 8th behind Shock ‘Em Ova, beaten just over three lengths. The Geelong-trained galloper drops back to a country level and is down in grade. Sheridan Clarke rides and claims the 1.5kg.
