Moonee Valley Tips 28/10/2028

BEST BET 🏆

Race 3 No. 2 WISHLOR LASS- ($2.45)

WISHLOR LASS should be hard to beat in Race 3 at The Valley. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper has had three runs this time in and has won her past two, including a last start effort in Group 3 level at Caulfield when she led all the way to defeat Barbie’s Fox. The five-year-old has now won five of seven and ran quick time at Caulfield to go 9.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. She held her rating at her fourth run last time and Damian Lane just needs to hold some clear air early on from barrier 1.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 2 APRILIA- ($8)

Race 6 is the Fillies Classic and it is APRILIA that can feature in the finish. The Andrew Forsman-trained galloper has had three runs since coming over from New Zealand and was brave off a tough run over the 1400m in the Jim Moloney Stakes (1400m) before heading to Flemington and finishing runner-up being Zardozi. She settled handy that day and did all the chasing but couldn’t reel in the winner. I suspect Moonee Valley might suit and Damien Oliver takes the ride.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 5 SHEVA ($9.10)

SHEVA is worth some thought in the Crockett Stakes for the fillies. The Team Hayes-trained galloper has won two of four and ran on strongly at Caulfield at her most recent start, defeating Excess. She didn’t seem to handle the Flemington straight prior to that and at her Moonee Valley run on debut, she drew wide and was posted out on a leaders track. The daughter of Written Tycoon went 7.5 lengths faster than standard benchmark last time, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Michael Dee rides and strikes at 26% for the stable, providing a 34% profit on turnover for punters.
