Race 1 No. 8 FLOOZIE – ($1.40)
FLOOZIE should be hard to beat in the opener at Mornington. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper has had the two career starts and has placed in both of those. She just missed out when 3rd in a blanket finish on debut before being posted wide without cover at Sandown on September 20, finishing runner-up behind Furious. The daughter of Zoustar was brave that day and went 2.9 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is more than five lengths better than what any runner in this race has produced. Worth noting that the 4th horse home has since come out and won. She draws much better this time around in barrier 4 and will be ridden by Damian Lane.

Race 8 No. 7 DEEP SECRET- ($15)
DEEP SECRET can go close in the final race of the day at Mornington. The Matthew Ellerton-trained galloper has had just the three career starts and claimed her maiden two starts ago at Seymour before jumping straight to a BenchMark 64 and finishing 4th at Warrnambool. Both of those runs were over the 1000m. She drops down to BM58 for this and should find this level a bit easier. The daughter of Deep Field draws to save ground from the inside and can box seat with the 1.5kg claimer, Celine Gaudray, to ride.
