Morphettville Parks Tips 28/10/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 2 No. 2 KATIM’S CLUB – ($3)

The Roslyn Day trained KATIM’S CLUB continues to put his name up as a horse to follow during the race reviews. Jumped awkwardly before putting himself handy to a hot speed before being overcome late by subsequent winner Jenkins. Again raced forward, albeit on a slow speed during the day when on-pace runners struggled at Murray Bridge. Forced to cover ground when coming back underneath Todd Pannell last time at Morphettville. Picky led to deny all comers while Katim’s Club kept grinding to deny Miss Kermie for second in a strong 1200m race at Morphettville.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3 No. 4 ALPINE FLYER – ($3.20)

ALPINE FLYER was no match for her stable mate Lord Vladivostok as Hickmott gave her another run over a sprint trip before accepting in the Listed Balaklava Cup over 1600 metres. The winners were mostly coming from on the speed that day and Kelsey Hannan duly fired Alpine Flyer up to sit on top of a good speed. This tactic was against her usual pattern somewhat and the mare ran a brave race in finishing behind the placegetters. Thought she might push on again after beginning well from a wide gate last start. Ben Price instead elected to bring her back underneath him in an evenly run race at best. The pair found themselves travelling wide without cover throughout before succumbing to a finishing burst from Thirsty Guest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6 No. 6 HEADPHONES – ($8.60)

Tough mare HEADPHONES can turn the tables on her stablemate Whiskey ‘N’ Women as Jordan Frew sends them around on the Parks track at Morphettville. Headphones was racing off a five-week break when finding a spot behind the speed at Murray Bridge. She just became held-up for runs as the pressure really began to build into the straight. Sam Payne was forced to switch off heels around much of the field while Whiskey ‘N’ Women and Magic Chloe were battling it out for the major prize. Headphones continued to come on for a gutsy third placing and will take benefit from the run coming into this.
