Port Macquarie Racing Tips 25 Oct 2026: Wild Monarch Again?

Overview

Wild Monarch has won two of its last three starts, and the one time it came to Port Macquarie it won. That three-year-old lines up in the last race on Sunday’s card with Ashley Morgan aboard, and it is the horse the whole afternoon builds towards.

It won’t have it easy. Dirty Does It has been to this track five times for two wins and four placings, the closest thing to a genuine Port Macquarie specialist on the card, and Paul Snowden sends Yesspecially up unbeaten in two starts. That makes Race 7 the best betting race of the day.

These Port Macquarie racing tips cover all seven races on a Soft track, starting at 1:30PM and finishing with that Class 2 at 5:10PM. Prices were up for the first two races when this was written and the later markets had not opened, so the odds you’ll see below are for Races 1 and 2 only. Read on for the course form that matters, a pick in every race and where we would put the money.

Reading the Port Macquarie card

One combination stands above everything else on this track. B Looker and Paul Snowden have teamed up 14 times at Port Macquarie for six wins and ten placings, and they have three rides together today: De Riguer in Race 2, Polymer in Race 5 and Yesspecially in Race 7. Snowden wins 35% of his races here from 17 runners, the best strike rate of any trainer with a runner on the card.

A Bullock is the other name to follow. He places with almost two of every three rides at the track, and the Bullock and K A Lees partnership reads two wins and four placings from five rides together here. They combine on Siccius in the opener and Newy in the last.

R N Godbolt 40 5 14 12.5 35.0

The counterweight to all that is P Cheers, the busiest trainer here with 54 runners for four wins. Volume alone isn’t a reason to back anything from that stable today.

Port Macquarie race-by-race tips

Race 1: Eather Recruitment Plate (C1), 1:30PM, 1800m

Siccius is the pick, and the booking is most of the reason. Bullock and Lees have only teamed up five times here, but they’ve won twice and hit the frame four times, and Bullock is the jockey you want on a Soft track at this course. The horse has been to Port Macquarie once, for a second, and it is the one runner in this field of seven with a win in its recent form line.

The worry is the last run. Siccius finished sixth at its only start in the past three months, so this is a bet on the connections and the course form rather than the latest effort. At $2.60 with Unibet the market has already worked that out.

Mission Strike is the danger at $3.50. It came back with a fifth after a break and should improve with that run under its belt over 1800m. Hardash is easy to leave out: five trips to this track without a placing. Win bet on Siccius, small stakes given the price.

Race 2: Robbie Agnew Racing Country Boosted Mdn Hcp, 2:05PM, 1000m

A 1000m maiden full of first-starters is a guessing game, so follow the stable with the numbers. De Riguer debuts for Snowden with Looker riding, the partnership that wins six of every 14 rides they share here. That’s enough to take a short position at $4.60 with Unibet.

The market leans to Stormy Martini at $3.90, another debutant,. Universal Energy at $4.20 ran fourth at its only start.

The one that interests us at a price is Sunny Quarters. It has placed in three of its last five starts and ran third at its only run in the past three months, and it’s $18 with Unibet against a bunch of unknowns. Small win on De Riguer, each-way on Sunny Quarters.

Race 3: Beau South Roof Restorations And Repairs Mdn Plate, 2:40PM, 1500m

Does anyone in here actually want to win? Lottery Link comes closest to answering yes. It has placed in four of its five starts over the last three months without winning, and its most recent run was a third. Maidens that keep running into the money usually find one eventually, and this is an ordinary field.

Bobbiwaa is the obvious danger. Its form reads three fourths in a row before a third last time, and Bullock jumping aboard is a tick given his place rate here. Foxy Prague placed once in three course visits but hasn’t shown much in two recent runs.

Bon Batan is the warning sign: five starts at Port Macquarie for no placings. Each-way on Lottery Link, with Bobbiwaa in the exacta.

Race 4: Mnc Solar (Bm58), 3:15PM, 1500m

Two profiles, both live. Under Twenty Two has a win and two placings from three runs here, and has been first or third at both of its starts in the past three months. Purple Kitty is the busier horse, with a win and five placings from nine runs over the same period, but it has been to this track five times for one placing.

That course record tips the balance. Under Twenty Two carries 60.5kg for R N Godbolt, whose stable has won five races here from 40 runners, and Daniel Smith rides. The weight is a fair ask in a Benchmark 58, but the horse is in form and the track suits.

Aye Aye Skipper has placed twice from four runs here and is a fair each-way chance for the Sprague stable. Prince Of Prophets has top weight at 61kg and only one run in the past three months, a third. Win bet on Under Twenty Two.

Race 5: Cascade Pools Country Boosted (Bm66), 3:51PM, 1100m

Here’s where the Snowden numbers come back into play. Polymer has been to Port Macquarie three times for two wins and a placing, and Looker rides. The catch is the gap: Polymer hasn’t raced in the past three months, so it comes in fresh, and a Benchmark 66 sprint is not the softest place to start a campaign.

That gives Fancy Shoulder a real chance. It has placed in all three of its runs at this track, winning one, and it has been in the first three at three of its four starts in the past three months. G Spokes takes 54.5kg, which is a light weight for a horse in this form. The concern is that it has gone close so often without converting.

Highland Force is the third horse in the argument. It won two of its three starts over the last three months, but the most recent was sixth.

We’ll side with Polymer for the course record and the stable, and take the safer route with Fancy Shoulder for the place. Small win on Polymer, place bet on Fancy Shoulder.

Race 6: Coastal Fire Protection Hcp (C1), 4:35PM, 1000m

Markwell Topsort has the course form and the right rider. It’s one win and two placings from three runs here, Bullock steers, and trainer Joseph Burges has won twice and placed five times from ten runners at this track. Its recent runs are mixed: a win and an unplaced effort from two starts in the past three months, but it has shown it handles the track.

Real Mccoy is the danger. It ran second last time and has a win and two placings from four starts over the past three months for Glen Milligan. Putinacall is the improver to watch: it ran third at its only Port Macquarie start, Ashley Morgan rides, and the form line of a win and two thirds says it hasn’t been far away.

Win bet on Markwell Topsort, with Putinacall as the saver.

Race 7: Macquarie Sign Group Hcp (C2), 5:10PM, 1200m

This is the race of the day, and Wild Monarch is the horse. The three-year-old has won two of its three starts in the past three months and finished no worse than third at any of them. Its only start at Port Macquarie was a win. Its form line, 3-3-1-2-1, shows a young horse that has kept getting better, and it won at its latest start.

The booking backs that up. Ashley Morgan wins nearly three in ten of her rides here, the best strike rate of any jockey riding on the card, and Morgan was aboard for trainer J Graham’s win at this track on 9 October. Wild Monarch gets 57kg, which leaves room under the topweights.

Two horses can beat it. Dirty Does It is the course specialist: two wins and four placings from five Port Macquarie starts, and five placings from eight runs over the last three months. It comes from the R J Agnew stable with D Peisley aboard, and it will be in the finish. The weakness is that it has only won once in those eight recent runs.

Yesspecially is the unknown. It’s unbeaten in two starts and has Looker and Snowden, but it hasn’t raced in the past three months. If it’s anywhere near ready, it’s the one that could spoil the plan. Newy, a winner at its only start here, gives Bullock and Lees another live chance.

Win bet on Wild Monarch, with an exacta keyed on it over Dirty Does It and Yesspecially.

Where the money goes

NAP: Wild Monarch (Race 7, 5:10PM). A three-year-old on the way up, already a winner on this track, with the jockey who has the best strike rate here in the saddle.

Value: Sunny Quarters (Race 2, 2:05PM). $18 with Unibet for a horse that has placed in three of its last five, in a maiden full of debutants. Each-way.

Banker: Siccius (Race 1, 1:30PM). Short at $2.60 with Unibet, but Bullock and Lees place four times from five together here, and that’s the profile you want leading off a multi.

Each-way: Fancy Shoulder (Race 5, 3:51PM). Three runs at Port Macquarie, three placings. It doesn’t always win, but it rarely misses the frame.

Course angle: Looker and Snowden. Six wins from 14 rides together here, with De Riguer, Polymer and Yesspecially today. If one of them salutes early, the other two are worth a second look.

If Wild Monarch wins this the way its form says it can, Morgan and Graham are the pairing to follow at the next Port Macquarie meeting.
