Racing returns to Randwick on Saturday for Epsom Day. There is a 10-race card from the Sydney-based racecourse, with the highlight being the penultimate race of the afternoon.

BEST BET: ROYAL PATRONAGE
Race 9
In what was his first run in over a year, Royal Patronage made a winning return to action at this course in the Group Two Tramway Stakes last month. It was his also his first appearance since switching to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott’s yard.
The six-year-old came very close to successfully following up on his latest outing at Randwick over 1600m, but he had to settle for third place in what was a bunch finish to the race. He was just a length behind the winner Fangirl.
Royal Patronage has an excellent record in large field races and this contest is likely to be run to suit him. He looks like the one to beat in the Epsom this year.
SECOND BEST BET: AUTUMN GLOW
Race 6
Autumn Glow comes into the Flight Stakes with a 100% record. She has looked impressive in each of those three runs, particularly last time out at this course when winning the Group Two Tea Rose Stakes over 1400m.
The daughter of The Autumn Sun was fast tracked to Group action after making a winning debut at Rosehill (1300m). She rewarded the confidence shown in her by landing the Group Three Up And Coming Stakes over the same course and distance.
Chris Waller’s runner sets the standard here, and if she takes another step forward on just her fourth career appearance, her rivals will be left to fight it out for second place.
Best Value: First Light
Race 8
As you would expect from a Metropolitan field that includes 18-runners, the eighth race on the card from Randwick is very competitive. The value appears to be with First Light who has been handed an excellent draw in barrier two.
The seven-year-old, who will be representing Chris Waller, was back to his best last time out at Rosehill, winning a Group Three contest by three lengths, finished ahead of Royal Ascot winner Changingoftheguard.
This is Fight Light’s fourth run since he moved to Australia. He was a very good horse in the UK, and we may not have seen the best of him yet in this country.
