Rosehill Gardens hosts its final meeting of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival on Saturday with Vinery Stud Stakes Day. It includes the Group One Vinery Stud Stakes and Group One Tancred Stakes, on an excellent afternoon of racing.

Race 6 (Vinery Stud Stakes)
Treasurethe Moment extended her winning run to six races when she landed the Group Two Kewney Stakes at Flemington earlier this month. She won that contest for three-year-old fillies by just over two lengths, justifying her short price in the betting.
The Melbourne-based filly is set for her debut in Sydney in the Vinery Stud Stakes in the $750,000 contest. Her connections are looking for another big run from their wonder filly, and if they get it, the Australian Derby could become an option, rather than the traditional route of the Australian Oaks. She has shown she has a lot of ability, so a clash with the boys may be on the cards for her.
Matt Laurie’s runner will take on a trio of runners from Chris Waller’s stable in the Vinery Stud Stakes. Declichy Boulevard, Movin Out and Real Class will form strong opposition, as will Verona Rose, the unbeaten filly trained by Gary Portelli. However, those horses all need to take a big step forward to match the form shown by Treasurethe Moment.
With a rating of 103, Treasurethe Moment is the class act in this year’s Vinery Stud Stakes field. She is off level weights (56kg) with her rivals, so this looks like a great opportunity for her to add to her career earnings of $1,426,000 by taking the first place prize in the feature race on Stakes Day.
SECOND BEST BET: Vauban
Race 8 (Tancred Stakes)
Former European raider Vauban made a winning debut for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott in the Group Two Sky High Stakes just a couple of weeks ago. The seven-year-old is no stranger to racing in Australia, he has been well-fancied in the last two renewals of the Melbourne Cup.
The versatile horse has won Grade One races over hurdles, and he prevailed in big contests on the Flat, including the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot and the Lonsdale Cup at York’s Ebor Meeting.
A change in stables, and indeed country, might just be what Vauban needed at this stage of his career. He battled hard at this racecourse to prevail by a nose on his latest appearance. That run will have ensured he has blown away any cobwebs, so expect to see an even fitter horse this time.
British trainer William Haggas is set to run Dubai Honour, a horse who has contested some of the biggest races around the world. However, this is his first appearance since December, so he may have to settle for one of the minor honours behind Vauban.

Race 3 (Tulloch Stakes)
Mustang Morgan has been beaten on his last three appearances on the track, but he is a horse who rarely runs a bad race. He was fourth on his latest run in the Group One NZ Derby at Ellerslie, finishing five lengths behind the highly regarded Willydoit.
The three-year-old gelding is already a stakes winner, and he could go under the radar in this Tulloch Stakes, with King Of Thunder and Golden Century likely to be the most popular selections in the betting.
If Mustang Morgan can transfer his form across from New Zealand, he will be a big player in this race, as he is the second-highest rated runner in the field.
