The San Domenico Stakes and Up And Coming Stakes are the most valuable prizes on offer at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday on their 10-race card.

Here are our best bets across the afternoon at Rosehill Gardens, including the best value selection.

BEST BET: GATSBY’S

Race 6

Gatsby’s built upon a solid two-year-old campaign when he made his seasonal reappearance at this course earlier this month. He won a Listed contest over 1,100m, scoring by just under two lengths under the hands of James McDonald.

Chris Waller’s colt looks to be a sprinter to follow this season, especially when he is taking on his own age group, like he is here in this Group Three San Domenico Stakes. He is the second-highest rated runner in the field, but arguably the one with the biggest potential.

The son of Snitzel has Storm Boy to beat in this contest but he will be receiving weight from his rival, so back him to land the feature on the card.

SECOND BEST BET: AUTUMN GLOW

Race 7

Autumn Glow got off the mark at the first time of asking in a handicap contest over 1,300m at this racecourse just a couple of weeks ago. The three-year-old filly showed no signs of any inexperience in that race, prevailing by two lengths. She could not have been any more impressive in that opening outing.

Chris Waller is opting for a quick reappearance with his promising runner, and he has opted for a 200m shorter distance. She showed bags of speed on her debut so this new trip should be perfect for the filly.

With the experience of that first racecourse run on her side, expect to see even more from the filly as she bids to double her tally.

Best Value: Land Legend

Race 8

Land Legend is making his first appearance on the track since scoring at this course back in October. That victory came over a much further distance than this, however, this horse proved how versatile he is in the early stages of his career.

The five-year-old gelding used to be based in the UK under the hands of James Ferguson. He has some excellent form in Europe, as he was second in a big handicap at York (2,000m), while he was seventh in the King George V Stakes (2,000m) at Royal Ascot.

In an open-looking contest, Land Legend is far too big in the betting to prevail. If he produces anything close to his best in this race, he should be in the mix at the finish.
