BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)
Race 4 No. 2 KATDEEL- ($2.80)
KATDEEL can get the job done in Race 4. The five-year-old has placed in five of seven career starts and resumed with a promising 3rd placing at Sandown on August 23, sticking on well over the 1500m to land just half a length off Akrotiri. He loomed up at the 200m in that race before peaking late, going 3.1 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. Second up at his last preparation, the son of Dundeel was a four length improver on benchmark figures when going from a 7th over the 1400m to a runner-up at the Sunshine Coast over the 1800m. Wiremu Pinn rides and the pair draw perfectly in barrier 4.

Race 7 No 5 ZION- ($3)
This is the pick of the races with the sprinters in action over the 1000m at BenchMark 70 level. ZION comes into this with eight weeks in between runs and was excellent off a similar gap at Flemington back in June when 3rd over the 1100m behind Senegalia. He was unlucky that day and then performed well again at that track before finishing 4th in a BM84 at Morphettville in mid July. The Nick Ryan-trained galloper was a winner at Sale earlier in the year and just needs the gaps to open up at the right time from barrier 1.
