Sale Tips 11/10/2023
BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 11 LABHUKU- ($3.20)
LABHUKU can go a couple of spots better than a first up effort that saw her finish 6th over the 1300m at Sandown on September 20. On that occasion, the Gemma Rielly-trained galloper led them up at a solid clip before fading late to finish 6th. Form out of that has been solid and the daughter of Press Statement went 1.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner and the second best that any horse in this race has produced. Improvement to come at her second run and she is right in this with even luck in the early stages as she looks to cross.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8 No. 3 CADMUS- ($4.60)
Market might be the best guide closer to the jump but CADMUS might be worth a play in the final event of the day. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper has had just the four career starts with one of those coming in Australia. That came over the 1800m at Sandown on April 19 and he looked to be working into it before pulling up lame. That turned out to be a solid form race and he looked solid in a recent trial. Beau Mertens rides and the pair have attracted support in the early betting.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7 No. 3 JOLTIN’ JOE- ($11)
JOLTIN’ JOE shapes as an each-way player in Race 7. The six-year-old has had two runs this time in and was runner-up over the 1000m at Sale on September 10 in a BenchMark 70 before tackling the 1100m down the Flemington straight, battling into 9th behind Dancing Alone. He drops in grade for this and gets back around a bend. Third up last time, the Paul & Tracy Templeton-trained galloper was an improver when 3rd at Moonee Valley before winning in quick time at Sandown.
