Sandown Tips for Wednesday, September 13

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 2 No. 9 PRINZERRO- ($2.50)

PRINZERRO should be hard to beat in Race 2 of the day at Sandown. The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper has had the three career starts for three placings and was excellent at his most recent start when runner-up behind Scentify. That horse has since come out and run well up against Steparty when an unlucky runner-up at Moonee Valley. Prinzerro settled handy at his recent run and was held up from the 400m to the 200m before running on strongly to go four lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. The son of Pierro draws wide for this assignment but has some early speed and will be ridden by Jamie Kah.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 6 No 6 GEORGIE GOT MAD – ($5)

GEORGIE GOT MAD shapes as a solid contender in Race 6. The four-year-old has had two runs this time in and stuck on very well at Caulfield in a BenchMark 70 on September 2 over the 1600m when 3rd behind Seb Song. They went hard early on in that race and he came out three-deep before just going down late. The Denis Pagan-trained galloper was a winner when third up last time and should be ready to peak over the 1800m.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No. 11 WATADEEL- ($5)

WATADEEL can just about make it back to back wins when he steps out in Race 8. The promising galloper has won three of nine, including his past two, which have come either side of a spell. The four-year-old resumed with a strong effort to score ahead of Bews at the Lakeside circuit on August 23 over the 1300m, despite doing a few things wrong in the process. The Philip Stokes-trained galloper jumps in grade but was an improver when second up at his last preparation, finishing runner-up behind Euro Dandy. He can continue to progress.
