BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 2 No. 2 BOND STREET BEAU – ($3.30)

BOND STREET BEAU just about looks ready to fire. The former Tassie galloper has had three starts in Victoria and bounced back from a tough run at Geelong two starts ago to work home well for 3rd at Moonee Valley on August 12 in a BenchMark 70 Saturday race. The five-year-old settled just forward of midfield in that race and was held up before working home well. The son of Turn Me Loose gets out to the 2400m now and won four in succession at a similar stage of his last preparation. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 7 No 1 ELECTRIC BELLE – ($5)

ELECTRIC BELLE can go close in Race 7 of the day at Sandown. The six-year-old is another that comes out of the Moonee Valley meeting on August 12 and settled back in the field of 10 before making a long and sustained run out wide to place 3rd behind Alors Tu Crois. She went 5.8 lengths faster than standard benchmark in that race, which is the best last start figure of any runner. The daughter of Power drops in grade and the 3kg claim gets her down to a winnable weight. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 

Race 8 No. 8 SHOCK EM OVA  – ($3.80)

We close off with a BenchMark 70 over the 1400m and SHOCK EM OVA is capable of claiming this at his first run back from a spell. The Alex Rae-trained galloper has won two and finished runner-up in another two of his five starts. 1400m might be a shade below his best but banking on his class in this grade. Sandown should suit and pace in the race looks solid enough for him to launch late with a few of these to go forward.
