Caulfield Tips 18/11/2023
BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 2 AIN’TNODEELDUN- ($1.85)
AIN’TNODEELDUN will take some beating in the opener of the day at Caulfield. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper is beginning to realise the potential he showed early on in his career by claiming his past three. He ran on strongly over the 1800m two starts ago to score at Sandown before making a long and sustained run over the 2040m at Moonee Valley in the Group 3 JRA Cup. The son of Dundeel was a winner at this stage of his last preparation and is three wins and a runner-up from four starts at the trip.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 2 SALTAIRE- ($3.80)
SALTAIRE has been racing in excellent fashion since coming down to Melbourne and just needs to reproduce recent efforts to take this out. The Sydney based galloper has been luckless at her past two with those coming over the 1200m in the William Crockett Stakes (1200m) on Cox Plate day and the Red Roses Stakes (1100m) on Oaks day at Flemington, finishing runner-up on both occasions. She rattled home at Flemington from last at the 400m to go a healthy 7.8 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. With pace to come from the likes of Miraval Rose and Brazen Style, the field should string out a bit and she can land with cover with Blake Shinn on board. The pair should be strong late in the piece.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5 No. 11 SGHIRIPPA- ($3.05)
Keen on the Adelaide galloper, SGHIRIPPA, in Race 5. The four-year-old crosses the border and has taken out his two runs this preparation, including a last start effort ahead of Celsius Star when running fast time on November 4. The son of Lonhro was a strong third up winner at his last preparation before narrowly missing out at Flemington over the 1100m behind Legio Ten. He has the early speed to cross over to settle handy from the barrier and should be fighting out the finish.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 10 No. 2 SHE DANCES- ($2.90)
SHE DANCES can end the day a winner. The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained galloper couldn’t quite finish off after traveling wide when first up over the 1100m but has dominated her rivals at her past two starts, taking out the Northwood Plume Stakes (1200m) at the track and trip two starts ago before winning well at Moonee Valley during the Cox Plate carnival. She has gone more than nine lengths faster than standard at her three runs this time in and was an improver when fourth up at this stage of her last preparation. Linda Meech sticks on board and has piloted her to her two recent wins.
