Caulfield Tips 22/7/2023
BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)
Race 6 No. 1 KIN- ($2.20)
Nice performance by KIN at the Caulfield meeting on July 8 at the track and trip and the Godolphin galloper can make it back to back victories. At her recent start, the daughter of Impending drew wide and settled well back before rounding up her rivals in the straight to score by more than two lengths from Rain Lord. That was off a slow early tempo. She rises in weight but had a bit in hand on her rivals last time and should enjoy a nice cart into the race with a few of these likely to go forward.
NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)
Race 2 No 3 MOVEFORLEX- ($3.55)
MOVEFORLEX can chalk up his first win since coming to Victoria when he lines up in Race 2. The former Tasmanian has had two starts since switching to the Patrick Payne stables and was all at sea on the Heavy 10 at Mornington two starts ago over the 1600m before showing improvement over the 2000m here on July 8. On that occasion, the son of So You Think settled just forward of midfield and loomed up at the 200m, only to go down late to Torranzino. He defeated a number of the rivals that he meets in this race. Step to the 2400m looks like it will suit and he wont be too far away in the run from barrier 5 with Billy Egan to ride.
BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)
Race 7 No 2 VALIDATED- ($7.60)
VALIDATED creates interest in Race 7 of the afternoon at Caulfield. The three-year-old comes over from South Australia and resumed with a win at a recent Saturday meeting at Murray Bridge, coming from well back to score from Wally West. Stable have opted to have a crack at Melbourne and he improved to win three in a row at his initial preparation, including a BenchMark 70 at Morphettville. The son of Valentia comes in with the second best last start benchmark figures of any runner, having gone 5.5 lengths faster than standard, just shy of what Angry Skies set at his last start, which was in the CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) back in February. Validated is likely to get back but is a renowned fast finisher and there looks to be enough speed in this race for him to launch at them late.
