Race 8 No. 1 CHEVALIER DU FAU – ($2.30)

CHEVALIER DU FAU can end the day a winner. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper steps out over the stayers trip of the 2400m and claimed his Maiden at the track and trip three starts back before claiming a BenchMark 64 at Sale. The lightly raced five-year-old then tackled a BM70 at Sandown over the 2400m, leading and going down in a tight one behind Pachino. He went 5.9 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best figure that any horse in this race has produced in the past two years. Billy Egan rides and the pair should be tough to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 5 No 9 CHOSEN BLONDE- ($4.80)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for CHOSEN BLONDE. The six-year-old comes across from Adelaide and burnt a bit of petrol early on at Morphettville on July 15 over the 1000m trip, leading before just fading late when 4th behind Jean Valjean. She went 0.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark in that run, which is the best last start figure of any runner in this race. She draws barrier 2 for this assignment and with a bit of a softer run early on, the daughter of Choisir should be hard to catch.
