Race 1 No. 8 WINGS OF SONG- ($1.80)

WINGS OF SONG looks to be the one in the opener at Swan Hill. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper has had the two starts for a 4th on debut at Murtoa on July 15 before heading to Seymour on August 17, running 3rd behind Too Big over the 1400m. She came out deep in the midfield before running. The daughter of Mendehlssohn steps to the 1600m and looks ready to strike.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 4 No 1 RICH MEMORIES- ($2.20)

HOOFS DONT LIE can break through in Race 4. The Hayes-trained galloper has had five starts for four minor placings and resumed with a 3rd Moe on August 27 over the 1014m. He led that day before going down late in the piece. The four-year-old gets back to a Good surface for this assignment and will strip fitter at his second run back.

Race 6 No 3 RIOTOUS MISCHIEF- ($8)

RIOTOUS MISCHIEF is worth a bit of thought in Race 6. The eight-year-old rattled home when resuming over the 1300m at Swan Hill three starts ago and hasn’t quite been up to them in the city in her two runs since. She comes off a last start 6th at Sandown and will find this easier. The Andrew Bobbin-trained galloper comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner and should be right at her peak. The 4kg claimer, Sarah Field, rides and has made a promising start to her career.
