Warren Racing Tips 21 July 2026 — can Robb own the late races?
Opening
You don’t often get a midweek country card where the stable patterns jump off the page, but Warren today has one that’s hard to ignore: Brett Robb turns up with multiple live chances across the back half of the program, and he’s brought riders that suit the jobs. The early maidens look like they’ll reward patience and positioning, then the meeting pivots into two races where tactical speed and gate usage should decide it.
So here’s the plan: I’m treating the first couple as price-hunting races, then getting firmer as the card goes on. You’ll get a clear pick in every race, a danger that can beat it, and what I’d actually do with my money, not a parade of “include in multiples” waffle. These Warren racing tips cover five races on turf, with most of the fields light on proven track patterns, so I’m leaning on current form lines, barriers, weights and the few genuine course notes that do exist.
Warren — the setup
Most of today’s runners have only one or two prior visits to Warren, so the course angle is more about the people than the horses. Where the sample is meaningful, it matters.
Trainer to respect here: MS J Clement has a proper body of work at Warren with 10 runners for 4 wins and 7 placings. That’s not a one-off spike, that’s a stable that targets the track.

Race-by-race
Race 1: Hereford And Poll Hereford Mdn Plate — 12:40, 1094m
The contender I keep coming back to is Marinera (gate 4). She’s the one in this maiden with the right kind of recent profile: her form reads 5-22, and in the last 90 days she’s had one run for a second. That’s not a mountain of evidence, but it’s the cleanest “close to a win” signal in the race and she maps to get a soft run without doing anything silly early.
The big query here is who controls the tempo. Mega Pixel (gate 1) should enjoy the inside and could easily be the horse that makes the race messy for the closers if she holds a spot, while Harry (gate 5) is honest enough but keeps finding a couple better and carries 59kg.
Danger: Badgers Bridge (gate 10) has the kind of form that can win this if the race falls apart late, but that draw forces the issue. Either he goes back and needs luck, or he pushes forward and risks being three deep.
Play: Marinera to win. If you’re a saver type, small saver Mega Pixel from the rails in case it turns into a sprint home.
Race 2: Cattleyard Mdn Plate — 13:15, 1531m
Here’s the question that frames the race: how many chances does a maiden get before you stop making excuses? For me, Miss Peony (gate 3) is the right side of that line. The form is 003224 and that tells you she’s been in the fight consistently without landing the blow. In the last 90 days she’s gone around four times and hit the frame three of them, with an average finish of second. That’s as steady as it gets in a country maiden.
The extra half-furlong looks a plus, and Billy Cray doesn’t have to overcomplicate it from that draw. Just land midfield with cover and make one run.
Danger: Nothing Finer (gate 4) is the horse that can spoil it if he gets the right stalk-and-pounce run. He’s had two runs at Warren previously and placed once, so he’s not guessing about the track.
There’s also a sneaky map runner in Bindaree Lass (gate 1) who gets every favour from the inside, but her recent form doesn’t scream “today’s the day”.
Play: Miss Peony win bet. Quinella saver with Nothing Finer if you want some cover.
Race 3: Cattleman’s Country Boosted Mdn Hcp — 13:55, 1312m
This is the race where I’m happiest to be decisive. Media Spin (gate 9) has done enough in three runs (form 324) to say the maiden win is there, and the way he’s been finishing suggests he’s not far off putting a field away when things go right. In the last 90 days he’s had two runs and placed in both. Small sample, sure, but the direction is what I’m betting: he’s holding his form and finding the line.
Zoe Hunt is a positive booking too. She rides Warren well, hitting the frame on 5 of her 12 rides here, and she tends to make good decisions when there’s a map problem. From barrier 9, that matters. If she can slide across and find cover, the race sets up for him to be the strongest late.
Danger: Cool Nanczye (gate 10) has the “now or never” look. She’s been mixing her runs (28-092) but that last placing says she’s come back to herself. If the two wide gates are forced to work and the inside brigade gets cheap sectionals, she’s the one that can pinch it late.
Play: Media Spin win bet. This is the best betting race on the card for me.

Race 4: Charolais Hcp (C1) — 14:35, 1094m
The contrast race. You’ve got the lightly raced upside versus the hardier older types, and the market (when it forms) will probably struggle to price that correctly.
I’m siding with Blue Biddy (gate 9). She’s a two-year-old stepping into a Class 1 after winning her only start, and yes, that’s thin evidence. But it’s also the cleanest “I can win races” proof in the field. She carries 55kg and lands with Zoe Hunt again, and that stable clearly has a plan with her placement.
Danger: Baron Of Butter (gate 2) is the obvious threat because his form is 51 and he gets every chance from a low draw with 58kg. If he kicks up, controls his patch and makes it a dash from the bend, he can absolutely hold them off.
For those chasing a blowout, Inarticulate (gate 8) has been winning and mixing it (7014) but he’s giving weight away and has to do some work from the outside half.
Play: Blue Biddy to win. If she drifts to a backable price, I’d play straight; if she’s short, I’d rather a small exacta with Baron Of Butter than force a big win bet.
Race 5: Bogan Red Plate (C1) — 15:10, 1750m
The stable move is the story here. Brett Robb has two major hands in the race, and he’s put them with riders who can make things happen.
I’m with Fierce Luva (gate 10) despite the draw. The form is simply good: 12. She’s proven she’s up to this grade already and she gets Izzy Neale, who rides this track well and consistently has her horses in the right lanes. Fierce Luva’s last 90 days are light, just one run, but it was a second and it fits the “still improving” profile.
The danger is in-house: The Mailer (gate 7) is the Robb runner with more experience and more exposed form (934518), but that also means you’re less likely to get an upside spike. If Fierce Luva has to go too far back from 10, The Mailer can be the one that lands closer and outstays her.
The other horse I won’t dismiss is Snow Dog (gate 3). He’s been racing honestly (741733) and he’s one of the few with meaningful Warren experience: two runs here for a win and a placing. That’s not enough to call him a specialist, but it’s enough to say he’s comfortable here when others are guessing.
Play: Fierce Luva win bet, with a saver on Snow Dog if the market gives you a fair each-way price.
The plays
NAP: Media Spin (Race 3, 13:55). Three runs for a 3rd, 2nd and 4th tells you he’s already in the right grade, and Zoe Hunt’s Warren record is strong enough to trust her from a tricky gate.
Value: Blue Biddy (Race 4, 14:35) if the market overreacts to the step from maiden to Class 1. She’s already shown she can win, carries just 55kg, and the placement looks deliberate.
Banker for multis: Miss Peony (Race 2, 13:15). Her last 90 days read four runs for three placings, and she draws to get the run you want in this sort of race.
Each-way angle: Snow Dog (Race 5, 15:10). Two Warren runs include a win here, and he maps far kinder than some of his main rivals at the trip.
Course angle to keep: when MS J Clement brings one to Warren, it’s usually live. The stable sits on 10 runners here for 4 wins and 7 placings, and that’s a pattern you can keep betting until the market fully catches up.
Next time you see Zoe Hunt on a progressive type at Warren, don’t wait for the “perfect” gate, she’s good enough here to solve a map problem.
