Wodonga Tips for Monday, September 11

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 6 No. 9 RUSSIAN FRONT- ($3.20)

This shapes as a bit of a confidence booster for RUSSIAN FRONT. The Mark & Levi Kavanagh-trained galloper won on debut earlier this year at Geelong and has had the two runs this time in for a 4th in a BenchMark 70 at Morphettville before a last start 5th at Sandown. Both of those were over the 1000m and he botched the start last time, which proved costly. Back at a rural setting, the son of Russian Revolution can make his mark and saves ground from the inside barrier.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 8 No 1 SNAP BOOK – ($3.25)

SNAP BOOK can end the day a winner. The five-year-old has had two runs this time in and needed the run first up at Corowa when 5th over the 1200m before running on well for 5th in a Highway at a recent Rosehill Saturday meeting over the 1400m, beaten just over two lengths by Nickelback. That form looks good for this and worth noting that his career peak came when third up at his last preparation, going two lengths slower than standard benchmark to score at Albury. Rose Hammond claims the 3kg and is two from five for the stable.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 5 No 8 TOP ARCTIC- ($6.25)

TOP ARCTIC can go close in Race 5 of the day at Wodonga. The five-year-old was a bit inconsistent on Synthetic tracks over winter but his most recent start was promising. That came at Echuca on August 26 over the 1600m and he settled handy before producing the fastest last 200m to place 3rd behind Dance Ready. The son of Frosted gives the impression that the the 2050m should suit and he looks reasonably placed against this lot.
