WARWICK FARM RACECOURSE HISTORY & EXPERIENCE
The Warwick Farm racecourse was officially bought by the Australian Jockey Club in 1922 with its first race meeting being held in 1925 in front of a large crowd.
Not long after, the Warwick Farm Raceway hosted four Australian Grand Prix’s in the 1960’s and 70’s. The racetrack now holds up to 15 race meetings a year with two, one day carnivals.
Warwick Farm has an auctioneer house next door to the racetrack which means there are elite training facilities inside the racetrack.
WARWICK FARM RACECOURSE GROUP 1 RACES
Warwick Farm was previously home to one Group 1 race, the Chipping Norton Stakes before it was moved to Randwick in 2016.
The other notable races at Warwick Farm are the three Group 2 races. The Challenge Stakes (1,000m), Warwick Stakes (1,400m) and the Surround Stakes (1,400m).
WARWICK FARM RACECOURSE TRACK AND FACILITIES
The Warwick Farm Racetrack has a circumference of 1,937m and a 326m straight that is run in a clockwise direction, the quick and sharp turns make it favourable for the front runners as they head into the final straight. Inside barriers have a slight advantage.
The racecourse has world class facilities with multiple tracks and recovery rooms for the horses. The horses also have treadmills and machines in each stable to warm up.

There are many different options to travel from the Sydney CBD to the Warwick Farm Racecourse. Here are some directions on how to get to the racetrack.
Public Transport:
- Walk to Central Station, Platform 19
- Catch Train Leppington via Granville to Warwick Farm Station, Platform 2
- Walk 1.3km to Warwick Farm Racecourse
Car:
- Depart from Sydney CBD
- Continue towards Darling Harbour, Anzac Bridge (300m)
- Exit right towards Darling Harbour (350m)
- Turn left onto Harris Street towards Airport and Botany (600m)
- Turn right onto Regent Street towards Airport and Botany (1.3km)
- Turn right onto McEvoy Street towards Sydenham and Wollongong (1.9km)
- Merge onto M8 Motorway (3.3km)
- Keep right on M8 Motorway (2.8km)
- Take exit Revesby onto The River Road (13km)
- Turn right onto The River Road towards Bankstown (300m)
- Turn left onto Milperra Road towards Liverpool and Bankstown (300m)
- Turn right onto Governor Macquarie Drive towards Chipping Norton and Warwick Farm (5.5km)
- At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Governor Macquarie Drive (600m)
