Is There A Draw Bias in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes?

With large fields being assembled for the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, we get to see which barriers have produced the most winners.

Among the leading barriers are gates 14 and 15 – this means drawing out wide on the track isn’t necessarily a bad thing as horses will often sweep home if the tempo suits.

Almost every barrier has had a winner since 1983 which is a sign that there is no draw bias for the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

Another trend that is noticeable is that a mixture of lighter weights around the 52kg mark and heavier weights (Behemoth carried 60kg in 2020) have been able to win the race.
