BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 3 ZELRING – ($3.40)

We’ll stick with ZELRING after landing the cash with him the last couple. Wonder kid Jade Hampson notched up yet another winner as she settled Zelring towards the rear here two back. The pair lapped up the hot pace set over the seven furlongs before producing up the middle of the track. They’ve comfortably accounted for the benchmark 64 field before stepping out to the mile in a restricted 76. Hampson again settled her mount by the tail, this time off a slow speed, however. This allowed the pair to be close enough by the time they straightened to allow Zelring’s superior turn-of-foot to come to the fore. Paul Denton had given smart mare Desert Lashes a gun run back to the inside to hit the front. Made no difference in the end as Hampson raced past with hands and heels on Zelring to score.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 1 BARTOLINI – ($3)

BARTOLINI was sent around in the double figures when upsetting his Class Two field over 1100 metres. Coming in off a slight let-up, Bartolini showed good gate speed to settle outside the leader under Wayne Davis. They’ve burst away into the straight to establish a match winning break and the punters trimmed his quote next time out. Still a drifting favorite though as he jumped sharply again. Couldn’t cross the two inside him with Davis content to sit three wide on the pace. The pair burst clear top of the straight once again while grinding late over the 1200 metres. Had been entitled to feel the pinch late following the wide run and we’re confident he’ll handle the seven furlongs.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1 No. 2  FANTASY EAGLE – ($4.60)

Local trainer Will Savage has FANTASY EAGLE coming back from the 1400 metres to tackles six furlongs on Sunday. Looks a good race on paper and we like the spacings between runs Savage has allowed is charge. Attempted to chase down Miles Prower at his first start this track which was in benchmark 70 grade. They didn’t go overly hard to class and the latter was able to just hold on in a close go. Ianish ride Fantasy Eagle a treat off the hot speed at latest to seemingly present at the right time. Put paid to a brave Dataset deep into the straight only to find himself set upon by a rampant Zelring. We don’t mind seeing them come back in trip slightly and Ianish Luximon sticks to claim his three kilos again.
