Overview
Tempted has won her last six starts, including the Everest at Randwick on 17 October, and she carries 56.5kg in the Champions Sprint with C Schofield riding for C Maher. Three wins from three runs in the last 90 days have earned $8,160,000, and nothing else in the race comes close to that record.
She is one of three Group 1 stories on Champions Stakes Day. Autumn Glow brings three straight wins into the Champions Mile for C J Waller and J B McDonald, and Cosmic Crusader, unbeaten in two Flemington starts, takes on Aeliana again in the Champions Stakes. The track is rated Good and nine races run from 12:40PM to 5:50PM. These Flemington racing tips go through every race, the riders and stables with real numbers at the track, and a quaddie built around the three Group 1s. Only Races 1 and 2 had bookmaker prices up when this was written, so the odds quoted come from those two races.
Reading the Flemington card
Most of today’s runners have been to Flemington once or twice, but there is more course form than usual on a Group 1 day. De Bergerac has had the most starts here, seven, and Litzdeel has placed in three of his four.

| Litzdeel | 4 | 0 | 3 | 0.0 | 75.0 |

| Fission | 5 | 1 | 2 | 20.0 | 40.0 |
The riders give us far more to go on. Mark Zahra has finished in the first three on 22 of his 40 Flemington rides, the best place rate on the card among jockeys with a real sample. Craig Williams has the most Flemington wins among today’s riders, 13 from 89, and Damian Lane is one behind with 12 from 60 at a better strike rate.
| Jockey | Runs | Wins | Places | Win% | Place% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mark Zahra | 40 | 4 | 22 | 10.0 | 55.0 |

Flemington racing tips, race by race
Race 1: Inglis Banner, 12:40PM, 1000m
Soldi is the only runner in this two-year-old race who has already won. She saluted at her only start for $120,000, and B Shinn rides for Ben, Will and JD Hayes, who have sent out 16 Flemington winners from 136 runners. At $3.00 with Unibet she is a fair favourite rather than a gift, but experience counts for plenty over 1000m with this many first starters.
She’s Supreme is the one with a run under her belt to threaten. She placed on debut and has Damian Lane on board from barrier 1, which should let her hold a spot on the fence. She is $8.50 with Unibet. Goddess Kay, unraced and $5.00 with Unibet, is the market’s idea of a danger. Win bet on Soldi.
Race 2: Ronald Mcdonald House Vic/Tas Mile (Bm84), 1:15PM, 1600m
Can Fiorenot carry 60kg and keep this form going? The horse has won one of two runs in the last 90 days and placed in the other, and the Flemington record reads a win and two placings from three starts. Tom Dabernig has only seven runners at the track but two of them have won. Jordan Childs rides from barrier 4.
The weight is the issue, and the market has noticed. Fiorenot is $3.20 with Bet Right, while Superfabulistic, with 54kg and a 221123 form line, is $4.40 with Unibet after placing in both runs in the last 90 days. Rachel King rides her from barrier 2. Nation’s Call is the price play: a win and a placing from two recent runs, a win among three Flemington starts, and $23.00 with Unibet. Win bet on Fiorenot, and a small each-way on Nation’s Call.
Race 3: Queen Elizabeth Stakes, 1:50PM, 2600m
Two wins and three placings from four runs in the last 90 days, worth $351,500, make Pinhole the most solid stayer in the field, and 56kg and J B McDonald rides for C J Waller. The pair have teamed up 12 times at Flemington since the start of 2025 for two wins and eight placings.
Defiantly is the international question mark. Joseph Patrick O’Brien sends him out with the highest rating in the race and a last-start win, but carries 59.5kg and has no runs in the last 90 days to measure here. Litzdeel is the place option, having finished in the first three on three of four Flemington starts and in three of five recent runs, without a win in that time. No prices were up. Win bet on Pinhole, Litzdeel for the trifecta.
Race 4: Fisher Stakes, 2:30PM, 1200m
Immortal Star knows the way around here better than most in this big three-year-old field. He has won one of his three Flemington starts and placed in another, and he won his only run in the last 90 days. Ethan Brown rides for C Maher, with 54kg from barrier 12.
Pallaton is the main threat, with a win and $88,500 from two recent runs, and Jordan Childs rides for G M Begg from barrier 5, a better draw than the selection. Hankee Alpha and Piastri have both won at Flemington before, which counts for something in a 16-runner sprint. No prices were up. Win bet on Immortal Star, with Pallaton in the exacta.
Race 5: Tab One Pool Matriarch Stakes, 3:10PM, 2000m
Two mares, two very different draws. Ocean Bay has the form: three wins and five placings from five runs in the last 90 days, and a placing at her only Flemington start. The trouble is barrier 17, which leaves D W Stackhouse plenty of work for Gavin Bedggood. Soverato has the gate, barrier 2, and Damian Lane rides for C J Waller. She won her only Flemington start and has a win and two placings from three recent runs worth $195,000.
With 57kg on Soverato and 55kg on Ocean Bay, the weights favour the wide one, and her consistency is hard to argue with. If Stackhouse can find cover from the outside, she is the one they all have to run down. Too Darn Discreet, a win from five Flemington starts, is the best of the rest. No prices were up. Each-way on Ocean Bay, and Soverato in the quinella.
Race 6: Vrc Champions Sprint, 3:50PM, 1200m
Tempted has won her last six starts, and the last two came in the Premiere Stakes at Randwick on 3 October and the Everest on 17 October. Three wins from three runs in the last 90 days have earned $8,160,000, and she carries the highest rating in the race at 56.5kg. C Schofield and C Maher have teamed up 29 times since the start of 2025 for eight wins and 17 placings.
This is her first start at Flemington, the one box she hasn’t ticked. Even so, nothing in the race brings a better recent record. Joliestar is the danger: the second highest rating, two placings from two runs in the last 90 days worth $2,190,000, and J B McDonald riding for C J Waller. Caballus won his only Flemington start, and Point Barrow has won two of three recent runs. Mazu placed at its only start here.
The feature sprint looks like a two-horse race on ratings, and Tempted is the better of the two on what she has done this spring. No prices were up. Win bet on Tempted, and use her as the banker in the quaddie.
Race 7: Vrc Champions Mile, 4:30PM, 1600m
Autumn Glow is the highest rated horse in the race and comes in on a run of three wins from three in the last 90 days, worth $4,110,000. She beat Lindermann by a long way in the Winx Stakes on 22 August and won again at Randwick on 19 September. In their meetings so far she has finished in front of her stablemate three times to one. J B McDonald rides at 57kg from barrier 2.
Lindermann is the one to beat her. He has two wins and three placings from five runs in the last 90 days, and he beat her in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick in April. Damian Lane rides him for C J Waller, so the stable has the top two in the market. Tom Kitten is the only one with a Flemington win among the main chances, a win from two starts here worth $1,190,000. No prices were up. Win bet on Autumn Glow.
Race 8: Tab Champions Stakes, 5:10PM, 2000m
Cosmic Crusader has started twice at Flemington and won both, worth $4,450,000, and he comes here with three wins and six placings from six runs in the last 90 days. The last of those wins came on 24 October. W Pike and Andrea Leek have combined six times since the start of 2025 for three wins and six placings, and the stable has two wins from five runners at the track.
Aeliana is the obvious danger. She has the joint highest rating in the race, gets 57kg, and has placed at both her Flemington starts and in three of four recent runs. The problem is that Cosmic Crusader has finished in front of her both times they have met this spring, including the Turnbull Stakes over this course and distance on 3 October. Sir Delius shares the top rating but has not placed in three Flemington starts. Birdman, a win from four here, is the each-way roughie.
Barrier 11 gives Pike a bit of work to do, but six placings from six runs this spring says he handles whatever the race throws up. No prices were up. Win bet on Cosmic Crusader, with an exacta of Cosmic Crusader over Aeliana.
Race 9: Hkjc World Pool Grand (Bm80), 5:50PM, 1100m
Electric Elvis has placed in all four runs in the last 90 days and won two of them. That kind of consistency is gold in a 16-runner handicap. Barrier 16 is wide, but Reece Goodwin‘s runner has the form to cover it, carrying 58.5kg.
Esmahli is the danger, with a win and three placings from three recent runs and a placing at its only Flemington start. Tres Magnifique has placed in all three recent runs without winning, and It’s A Yes has won two of five. No prices were up. Win bet on Electric Elvis.

Where the money goes
NAP: Cosmic Crusader (Race 8, 5:10PM). Unbeaten in two Flemington starts and in the first three every time this spring, and he has beaten Aeliana twice already.
Value: Nation’s Call (Race 2, 1:15PM), $23.00 with Unibet. A win and a placing from two recent runs and a Flemington win already, priced like an outsider.
Banker: Tempted (Race 6, 3:50PM). Six wins in a row, the last of them the Everest, and the best rating in the sprint.
Each-way: Ocean Bay (Race 5, 3:10PM). Five placings from five runs in the last 90 days, and a placing at her only Flemington start. The wide draw keeps the price up.
Course angle: Follow Mark Zahra into the placings. He has finished in the first three on 22 of 40 rides here, and today he rides Arkansaw Kid, Too Darn Discreet, Point Barrow, Tom Kitten, Light Infantry Man, Torsheen and King Pedro.
Quaddie (Races 6 to 9): Tempted on her own, Autumn Glow and Lindermann, Cosmic Crusader and Aeliana, then Electric Elvis, Esmahli and Tres Magnifique.
If Tempted wins this the way she won the Everest, she goes into the autumn as the sprinter every other stable has to plan around.
