BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 9 STRYKER’S GAL ($3.60)

An inside gate will see consistent filly STRYKER’S GAL land in a commanding position during her race under Jason Whiting on Wednesday. Stephanie Bakranich gets Stryker’s Gal out to 1500m with three runs under her belt. The latest of which had Stryker’s Gal setting in an off-pace position over 1413m at Pinjarra. Early race leader Striking Fella had it all his own way out in front before racing clear into the straight. Stryker’s Gal took some time to wind-up once into the clear before getting home best of the rest for second. Racing as though the extra trip will suit and looks ready to win.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 2 ZANGIEF ($3.20)

Winning form is good form and that’s exactly what ZANGIEF brings to Ascot Racecourse on Wednesday. Training duo Cliff Smith and Jo Leeson appear to have unlocked the secret to Zangief after the horse raced for three years between wins. Broke through for a runaway win second-up this prep after settling handy over 1200m on the Scarpside course at Pinjarra. Repeated the dose when travelling on the back of Star Power over this track and distance last start. Peeled off of that horse’s heels into the straight before proving too strong in the run to the line. Drawn to receive the run of the race under Chris Parnham at his fourth run this time in.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 10 No. 5 ALLEGRO SONATA ($8.50)

Ascot trainer Stefan Vahala found a win early in the prep with ALLEGRO SONATA when she scored second-up at Pinjarra. It was a determined win from the mare under Steven Parnham to grind down race leader Bring The Bling in the shadows of the line. Parnham settled his mount outside Bring The Bling’s hindquarters as those two had the race run to suit. The leader got away on straightening before Parnham went to work on Allegro Sonata. Just edged out by Truevinsky in the apprentice’s race last time and now meets that horse a couple of kilos better in the weights.
