BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 2 AZZUREOUS – ($4.80)
Dual Port Augusta Cup runner-up AZZUREOUS comes back to a track and distance where he’s already one for one at. Consistent stayers are hard to find and he runs into an in form mare in Dixie Whistler. The market has gone with her to continue her ways though she might just bounce off the bigger, more experienced gelding here. The further they go the better he gets and we do get Todd Pannell aboard. Doesn’t want it too wet, the current Soft 6 is fine with any upgrades to be further into his favour.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 2 SAVILLE – ($4.40)
Strathalbyn trainer Greg Lesnikowski returns to the races with potential stable star SAVILLE. Been a long time between runs since the big Valentia gelding debuted over this track and trip in May last year. He attracted support that day too off the back of an impressive winning trial over the likes of Miss Langtry. Jumped away with them out wide when asked to come back to last before coming the widest into the straight. Saville hit the line stylishly for third signaling plenty of ability. Tuned with two jump outs coming into this, the latest of which showed good speed to follow the leader before taking over and moving away at Morphettville. Did have one come out of the pack under hard riding to pick him up with Saville finding the front again shortly after the post.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6 No. 4 REMARKABLES – ($19)
The tough market at Balaklava on Wednesday has made us search hard for our Value “Roughie” Bet. We’ve decided to land on REMARKABLES who needs a form reversal to knock off the likes of Fox Gem from their meeting last start. We’ll go on the run prior of Remarkables who looked like a beaten horse at Strathalbyn. Stacey Metcalfe kept the work up to her horse who responded with a late rally to break his maiden. Essentially rises to a benchmark 62 here and is fitter for some recent racing.
