RONAY can chalk up an overdue win. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper has finished runner-up at his pas four starts with all of those coming at BenchMark 58 level on the Ballarat Synthetic. He has been running on gamely each time. Rivals in this race have not been doing much of late and hopefully the 2kg claimer, Tayla Childs, can land within striking distance in the early to middle stages. Look for the pair to be strong late in the piece.

Race 6 No. 1 MEVIUS- ($3.60)
MEVIUS can make it the hat-trick of wins when he steps out in Race 6. The five-year-old scored at BenchMark 58 level at Pakenham on July 21 before stepping up to BM64 here on July 19 over the 2100m and winning comfortably from Mocca Diamond. He settled midfield and took over as they cornered that day to go 0.6 lengths faster than standard, which is five lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. Fit and firing, he will take some beating.
