Race 8 No. 3 FRENCHMAN’S BAY- ($1.75)

FRENCHMAN’S BAY should be hard to beat in Race 8. The Andrew Noblet-trained galloper was a winner two starts ago ahead of Signal over the 1200m on the Synthetic before rising to 0-64 grade and finishing 4th behind Pentegra. She settled midfield and was wide before landing just over a length off them. This looks easier and the daughter of Helmet comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner, while she draws to get the gun run from barrier 5 with John Allen to ride.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 2 No 3 COMB OVER CON- ($3.50)

COMB OVER CON gets his chance in Race 2. The Tom Dabernig-trained galloper has finished runner-up on the Synthetic at Ballarat at his past two and led them up on June 5 before being run down late by Haather. Bit of a gap to the 3rd horse in that race, which was similar to his start prior. The son of Impending can either lead or box seat from the barrier.

Race 7 No. 2 COSMIC RHAPSODY- ($5)

COSMIC RHAPSODY can go one spot better than a first up effort that saw him finish a narrow runner-up behind Signal over the 1100m on the Ballarat Synthetic. That came on June 5 and the six-year-old settled just off them, producing the fastest last 200m to just miss. He had a four length gap on the rest of them and worth pointing out that in his four starts on the Synthetic, he has finished in the top two on each occasion. The son of Star Witness will strip fitter and just needs to find a spot early on from the barrier.
