Bendigo Tips 21/04/2024
BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 1 A BOOK OF DAYS- ($1.75)
A BOOK OF DAYS is the one to beat in Race 3. The Team Hayes-trained galloper was runner-up on debut in Pakenham behind Illative in what has turned out to be an excellent form race for a Maiden with four winners coming out of it. At his second run, the son of Written By was smashed in the betting to start as a $1.45 favourite at Sandown but could only manage 4th behind Icarus. He may have had an excuse as he was found to have pulled up with issues. This looks to be a weaker Maiden and he should make amends.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5 No. 8 LACEMAKER- ($5.50)
Looking for improvement from LACEMAKER in Race 5. The four-year-old has had just the one run this preparation for a 4th at Pakenham, working hard out wide early on when leading before just fading late in the piece. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper was a 6.5 length improver on benchmark figures when second up last time, overcoming a poor start to place 6th at Caulfield in a much stronger race than this. Look for her to push up from the wide barrier and stick on at the business end.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No.2 CHARMED RUN- ($5.60)
CHARMED RUN can go one spot better than a first up effort that saw her finish runner-up at Cranbourne on March 29. The four-year-old settled just worse than midfield that evening and chased well in the straight to land one length behind Soju. Second up at her last campaign, the Luke Oliver was a solid 3rd in a stronger race than this at Sandown. She enjoys a nice run in transit from barrier 5 and we can expect to see her fighting out the finish.
