Bendigo Tips 31/07/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 1 ARMSTRONG BAY – ($4.20)
ARMSTRONG BAY should be hard to beat in Race 3 at Bendigo on the back of a first up effort that saw him finish runner-up behind Come Along Jeffrey at Warrnambool over the 1100m on July 18. That came on a Heavy track and he did all the chasing behind the winner to finish a length away, putting a seven length gap on the rest of the field. The son of Keep The Faith went 2.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is better than what any runner in this race has produced. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper has attracted support in the early and will look to find a spot early on from the wide barrier with Linda Meech to ride.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 9 YOSEMITE – ($5.50)
YOSEMITE should find this easier than recent runs. The four-year-old last stepped out in a BenchMark 70 at Sandown on July 20 and settled back in the field of 14 in a slowly run race, producing the fastest 400m-200m split before the lack of early tempo counted against, finishing three lengths away in 8th position. That came on a Heavy track and she was a close 3rd a few starts back on the going over the 1100m here behind First Division in a BM64, while she does tend to save her best for the 1100m at Bendigo. The daughter of Redwood should get a nice run from barrier 2 and will be ridden by Jamie Mott.
