BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.5  YET HE MOVES

Chris Waller saddles-up YET HE MOVES here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest he can figure in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Adelaide gelding came off a 17-week spell and on fresh legs, beat all but one home in a BM72 over the mile at Gosford. James McDonald has his first ride on the four-year-old today who does no early work from gate two as he maps to settle mid-field with cover. Already a winner when second-up and has won at the track and distance before, he looks well placed to go one better today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.6  DAKOTA VROOM

Another from the Waller stable is DAKOTA VROOM who resumes off a 10-week let-up today and boasting strong fresh efforts to date, looks right in the firing line for victory in this contest. Last start, the well-bred I Am Invincible mare ended her last campaign poorly, finishing down the track in a BM78 over 1300m at Rosehill. That came off two wins and a runner-up finish from her three starts prior to that run. Tommy Berry has been the pilot for her past four races and sticks with her here. Three previous first-up runs resulted in two wins and a minor placing which is strongly suggests she can give this a real shake today. Jumping from gate five and unbeaten in two starts at Canterbury, she looks a sound investment here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4:  No.2  PHYSICIST

Race 4 – 1:55PM CYLINDER @ DARLEY HANDICAP MAIDEN (1550 METRES)
The Brad Widdup-trained PHYSICIST has his second race-start today and impressed enough on debut to suggest he is a winning chance in this contest. The well-bred So You Think gelding turned plenty of heads when finishing third in a 1350m Maiden at Wyong. Second-last on the turn, he spotted the leaders six lengths and while too far back to win the race, he had punters taking notes after his fast-finishing effort that day. Stepping up in distance today looks ideal for him here as Tyler Schiller remains in the saddle for this assignment. If his debut performance is anything to go by, a ticket on his today looks essential.
