This looks to be the right race for BEURRE ROUGE to chalk up her first career win. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper has had the two starts for a 3rd on debut at Yarra Glen before heading to Sandown and placing 4th over the 1200m behind Etincelle on April 10. She was last of the six runners that day after being slowly away on a very moderate tempo but worked home well to go 2.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark, producing the second fastest last 200m. This looks an easier Maiden and the daughter of Russian Revolution should be ready.

The Matt Laurie-trained galloper has shown promise in his six career starts with two wins and was a tad luckless when resuming with a narrow runner-up behind Machinist over the 1000m at Cranbourne on April 12. He settled midfield in the eight-horse field and was held up as they cornered before just missing. The son of Performer was an improver second up last time when going from a Murray Bridge Maiden win over the 1000m to a BM64 victory over the 1200m at Morphettville. The 3kg claimer, Lauren Burke, rides and is four from 10 when combining with the stable, providing a 35% profit on turnover for punters.
