Race 1 No. 2 MIROKU – ($3.40)
We were on MIROKU here last start as Jason Manning got him out to 1300 metres. Loved his first two runs over the sharp sprint journeys at Morphettville behind Miss Langtry and then here as he ran into Noble War. Thought Vanessa Arnott would likely hunt from the gates into a forward position, however he just couldn’t muster. Sent him on a wide run around the field once he found his feet only to find the leaders too sharp. Has run some cracking races over this sort of trip and will enjoy the quieter race tempo early. Ready to peak now at his fourth run in, can either lead or box-seat to finish strongly.

Race 7 No. 8 EASY BEAST – ($5)
Let’s have a crack at the Palmerston and wasn’t EASY BEAST some run for his first go around Fannie Bay?! He’s probably not quite those each-way odds just yet though we are going to suggest him as such since it seems the punters are yet to sort this race out. Syncline and Niewand were intent on crossing him, to which Jason Lyon made them earn their keep for a furlong or so. He’s then let them cross and rather than face any kick-back off the dirt has eased his horse around their heels. The others got away as the pressure went on with Lyon working on keeping his mount balanced and regaining his rhythm. Easy Beast responded by coming back into the bridle on turning while reaching out nicely. He’s rattled home on straightening and will be better for the experience.

Race 2 No. 3 CAITLIN’S ANGEL – ($31)
Wide draw no spoil for CAITLIN’S ANGEL however we’re going to have a speck at the price about Kym Healy’s tough older mare. Went out in good form at the end of last prep winning in Alice Springs when settling in the first few. Sprinted best to claim her stablemate Real Valentia with the Healy pair leaving a gap back to the rest. Seemed check with the inside horse before losing ground early here on resumption. Finished out the back that day though beaten less than 6L to Swing With Junior. Ridden with intent last time and just couldn’t keep up with them. Seemed to find some rhythm late and again had been beaten less than 6L to Valentina Star and Swing With Junior.
