Race 5 : No. 6 LANDSBOROUGH LAD ($2.80 with bet365)
The David Vandyke-trained LANDSBOROUGH LAD hasn’t missed a podium finish in five starts this preparation and is surely ready to win today. Last start, the Headwater gelding played bridesmaid again as he finished second, here in a 1200m Maiden Plate. Leading to the turn, he fought on strongly but again was found out in the run home, beaten a whisker right on the line. Today, Jim Byrne has the reins for the first time and from gate four, maps to be showing them the way again. He is proving to be an expensive one to follow (starting favourite in all starts this preparation), but he is worth one more chance today.

Race 7 : No. 8 VACCINE ($7.50 with Palmerbet)
Tony Gollan saddles-up VACCINE here who looks a strong chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Not A Single Doubt mare made it back-to-back wins when she finished best to take out a BM68 Hcp, here over 1200m. Despite racing wide (without cover) that day, she still did enough to get the job done with Steph Thornton on board. This is no harder as Thornton sticks with her. From gate six, she maps to settle back in the field and be doing her best work late. Unbeaten at the track and trip, she looks outstanding value in this contest.

Race 4 : No. 6 TAIRUA ($10 with Ladbrokes)
Sunshine Coast galloper TAIRUA finds a drier track today and back in distance, can give this a real shake. Last start, the Reliable Man mare had it all against her as she finished unplaced in a BM75 Hcp over 1615m, here on a heavy track. She still covered the trip, 1.2 lengths quicker than benchmark after drawing gate 13 (of 14) for the race. Drawn nicely in gate three today, she maps to take a sit just off the speed. Tiff Brooker has been aboard in all seven race starts to date and has the job again today. The Soft 5 should suit better and she is already a two-time winner over the trip. In the small field, she looks a little overs here and should give us a bold sight.
