BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 3 CRIPPS TONITE – ($2.80)
Not even the weight swing towards Hoot ‘N’ Holler can sway the market off CRIPPS TONITE. The pair met at the start of the prep over 1000 metres on the Sunshine Coast where the latter was presented with a three wide run without cover. Cripps Tonite eventually peaked on his on speed performance to be passed by Hoot ‘N’ Holler who has subsequently won twice. We’re inclined to agree with the early market on this one as Cripps Tonite improved on his debut effort to lead and kick strongly over 1200 metres in Ipswich. He’s drawn inside the filly who gave the impression that she did not want much further than the 1100 metres last time out.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3 No. 13 OUR ARMISTICE – ($7)
While doing the form for the Poly meeting at the Sunshine Coast recently we mentioned we may look at Our Armistice for Wednesday. We thought we’d found a best bet in Autissier for that card and it was in a trial against that horse where Our Armistice caught our attention. Loved the way she moved in what was to be the second of two very quiet trials. She debuted by running smart time from the front over 1050 metres here. There was plenty of pressure in front for her to face that day and Our Armistice did knock-up late. Has drawn ideally again and may find the early tempo of 1200 metres a little more to her liking.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2 No. 3 HEAR HEAR – ($31)
If we were to isolate the latest run of HEAR HEAR then we’ve got a horse who is massively over the odds. He jumped sharply for Luke Tarrant who could’ve asked to cross and lead them up off the wide draw. Instead Hear Hear came back underneath his rider to be trapped 4WNC the entire just in front of midfield. Tarrant has presented his mount only to get involved in a bumping duel up the straight with the horse inside him. Hear Heat gutsed out the 1400 metres only to tire late and the run prior wasn’t so bad. Would love to see his rider use the ideal draw to take up a forward role in this.
