BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No. 8 DARALINA BELLE ($4 bet365)
Warwick Farm galloper DARALINA BELLE sees her first QLD track here and with better luck, looks a genuine winning chance. Last start, the Deep Field mare drew the outside gate and was never on the track when finishing a gallant third in a BM72 Hcp over 1200m on her home track. She ran out the trip, 1.7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. She also posted the fastest final 800m and 600m sectionals for the race. Ideally drawn in gate two, she maps to settle better than mid-field (with cover) and in an easier affair, should prove hard to hold out.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No. 1 RHAPSODY ROSE ($5 Unibet)
The Chris Munce-trained RHAPSODY ROSE is unbeaten here and looks well placed to keep that record intact. Last start, the Star Witness filly beat all but one home in a Three-Year-Old Plate over 1200m at Eagle Farm. She ran the trip, half a length quicker than benchmark, third-best here behind Bitcoin Baby (who prefers it dry and has the outside gate to deal with here). Luke Tarrant remains aboard and from gate four, the filly maps to be box-seating on settling. With a clear run home, she can get the chocolates here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8: No. 10 SNOWZONE ($8 Palmerbet)
The Kris Lees-trained SNOWZONE is in great touch this time in and boasting a strong track record, looks in the mix here at odds. Last start, the Snitzel gelding just missed the major prize when he beat all but Rupertaar home in a BM78 over 1100m on a Heavy 9 at Randwick. He ran his last 600m 10 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. He also recorded the fastest final 600m and 400m sectionals for the race. His 16 starts here have resulted in five wins and as many minor placings and already a six-time winner on wet tracks, he looks right at home here and well worth an each-way ticket.
