Race 5 No. 4 FEIRME PRINCE ($5.50)

We will have to be content with coming back in trip for FEIRME PRINCE who was an impressive last start winner over 1218m here. Toby Pracey brings his horse back to Dubbo Racecourse on Sunday where there are no six-furlong races available. Feirme Prince enjoyed the hot tempo which was set-up by a tearaway leader in Ithicus. Kevin Dunbar settled back early as per usual before unleashing Feirme Prince with a powerful run up the middle of the track. The time was okay and Feirme Prince can take that next step in class on Sunday with some early pressure in the race.

Race 6 No. 9 MAJORITY ($10)

Claiming apprentice Jake Barrett can keep MAJORITY curled up for one run at them in the Cup Prelude at Dubbo Racecourse on Sunday. Local trainer Brett Robb will be leaving plenty in the tank with the mare to help capture his hometown cup. Majority showed herself to be forward enough in a recent trial where she ran home from a mile back while under her own steam. Majority had been racing in reasonable form before Robb tipped her out, and she looks well-placed under the lightweight to land first-up here.

Race 2 No. 3 VINLAGO ($9.50)

Former Victorian trained runner VINLAGO finds himself at the Muswellbrook stables of Dale Riley. He’s had plenty of starts to try and break his maiden and the change of location may just do the trick for this horse. Dylan Stanley lobbed handy on him when racing over this track and trip three starts ago. Vinlago found no answers as Vanoureuce and Carrana Anne rushed past to fight it out. They ran a smart time for maiden grade with Vinlago holding the rest comfortably. Displayed a tenacious spirit when improved again as he dug in an attempt to repel the challenge of Quick Floss over 1018m last start. Concern is that Vinlago now has to race over the 1118m; however, he is race fit and drawn to be comfortable early.
