BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 4 No. 4 LEGIO TEN – ($3.10)

We have been keen on LEGIO TEN since his first up win at Bendigo back in May and the Godolphin galloper has picked up a win in fast time over the 1100m since then before placing 3rd in the Listed Creswick Stakes (1200m) behind Renosu at his most recent start. He settled towards the rear in that race and was stuck on the inside part of the straight but produced the fastest last 600m, 400m and 200m of the entire meeting. Step up to the 1400m looks ideal and he saves ground from barrier 1 with the 2kg claimer, Celine Gaudry, to ride. She is three from 10 for the stable, providing a 75% profit on turnover.

Race 8 No 2 MILFORD ($7)

MILFORD can turn the tables on Normandy Bridge in Race 8. The Mike Moroney-trained galloper chased that horse home in a strongly run race at Caulfield on June 24 over the 2000m, missing out in narrow fashion, while there was a 2.5 length gap back to 3rd. The son of Savabeel was posted wide and hit the lead with 150m to go, only to go down late. He comes into this fourth up and meets the winne 3.5kg worse at the weights, while the chance of a firmer deck than the Soft 7 that was in play that day should be in his favour.

Race 7 No 1 ZAC DE BOSS- ($11)

Best Value comes up in Race 7 and it is ZAC DE BOSS that can go close at the each-way quote. The five-year-old has had two runs this time in and had no luck when resuming over the 1100m when 7th behind the likes of Vongole and Renosu before sitting on the speed and finishing 3rd behind Sigh and General Beau over the 1100m on June 6. That form has held up with those two filling the exacta in the John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield last weekend. Zac De Boss will have to do it with the 59.5kg but will strip fitter and has produced some solid performances at the track and trip in the past.
