About our Flemington Tipster

Adam Cusworth is RacingBase’s resident form analyst for all Victorian meetings. Focusing on one state (VIC) gives Adam an edge when it comes to knowing the form of each and every runner going around in Victoria. His Flemington Tips generally include a Best Bet, Next Best and Best Value, and sometimes he will throw out an extra tip or two if something appeals. Adam and the rest of the RacingBase team used a comprehensive data subscription to provide them with information and statistics that aren’t available to the average punter due to the high cost of acquiring the information. We pass that information on to the punter in form of benchmark (BM) performance ratings which are calculated against historical data for each track, distance, conditions, wind speed and more.

Flemington Group 1 Tips

There are a total of 14 Group 1 races held at Flemington Racecourse each year with the Makybe Diva Stakes being the first Flemington Group 1 held in September. The world famous Flemington Carnival takes place in October and November and features four race days: Derby Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Oaks Day and Stakes Day.

Quick Tips for Finding a Flemington Winner

  • Look for horses trained on the track as they are generally more familiar with the surface, undulations and turns.
  • Flemington sprint races over 1000m, 1100m & 1200m are down the straight, so check the form guide for horses with straight track experience.
  • Some jockey’s and trainers have a much higher strike-rate at Flemington so it’s important to know which jockeys and trainers to follow.

Tips for Betting on Flemington Multiples

Daily Double

The Daily Double is offered at all Flemington race meetings and is generally races 6 and 7 on a nine-race card. Punters need to pick the winner of both races and are able to select any number of runners in each leg. The Daily Double generally doesn’t pay much so it’s important to limit your selections to just a couple of runners in each leg.

Treble

The Treble is and extension of the Daily Double and is usually offered in races 6, 7 and 8 on a nine-race card. The Treble will more than likely pay more than the Daily Double but this isn’t always the case if a favourite takes out the third leg.

Quadrella

The Quadrella or ‘Quaddie’ is a big target for most punters as the payouts are consistently in the thousands and often go into tens of thousands and higher. The Quaddie takes place in the last four races of the day with punters needing to find the winner of all four races. To maximise profit in the Quaddie, it’s a smart ploy to have a couple of legs with limited runners and then go wide with the other two legs. And it pays to include a few roughies in the mix as when you can find a roughie or two, this is when the payouts are at jackpot proportions.
