BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 6 No. 11 ALTIVO – ($2)

ALTIVO should be hard to beat in Race 6 of the day at Flemington. The unbeaten galloper from the Team Hawkes stable stepped out at Flemington over the 1600m on May 13 and rounded up his rivals to score a comfortable win ahead of French Emperor. He was second up and six weeks in between runs but still had the answers, going 33.8 for his last 600m, which was on a Soft 5. Step up to the 1800m should suit and the four-year-old does look to have some upside. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 9 No 4 DAZZLING LUCY – ($4.85)

Nice return by DAZZLING LUCY at Sandown on May 6 and the four-year-old can go one spot better after missing out behind Our Heidi. The Tony Noonan-trained galloper overcame a check at the 600m in that race and produced the fastest last 400m and last 200m. She would have won in another stride or two. The daughter of Star Witness comes into this second up and is two from four at this stage, winning at Sandown at her last preparation. She likes the 1200m and it will be no surprise to see her running over the top of them late in the piece. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 

Race 3 No. 15 VIVIANE- ($6.75)

VIVIANE might be worth a play in Race 3 of the day at Flemington. The Matthew Ellerton-trained galloper was excellent when resuming at Sandown on May 6 over the 1000m, finishing a very narrow 3rd behind Our Heidi. She looked to be right in contention before just peaking late. The on-pacer has been a noted improver on benchmark figures at when second up in all of her previous preparations, while she has exposure over the 1100m at Flemington when runner-up as a younger horse. Look for her to come down the centre of the straight and feature in the finish with Joe Bowditch to ride. He provides a 22% profit on turnover when combining with the Ellerton stable.
