BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No.1 BLOW IN – ($2)

Best Bet comes up in Race 4 and it is BLOW IN that can break the Maiden. The four-year-old has filled the minors at his two runs this time in and caught the eye fresh when running on to land the exacta over the 1200m here behind Grand Impact in what has proven to be a very solid form race. Last time out he tackled the 1400m at Sandown on a Heavy 9 and went 1.6 lengths faster than standard behind El Rocko in a BenchMark 70. This is much easier and with Craig Williams on board this looks to be his race.

Race 6 No. 6 SIR MAXIMUS- ($2.30)

This looks to be a race in two with Madame Du Gast and SIR MAXIMUS dominating the market. Going with the latter, Sir Maximus, who can improve off a last starts effort that saw him finish 4th at Geelong over the 1318m. That came just over a week ago and the Lindsey Smith galloper settled back before running on, improving eight lengths on benchmark figures from his previous run. Don’t mind the one week back up and he draws well in barrier 4 with Ben Melham to ride.

Race 3 No. 12 SCREAMING DIVA – ($6)

SCREAMING DIVA can go close in Race 3 of the day at Geelong. The Simon Zahra-trained galloper has had the three career starts for three runner-up performances and has gone down late in all of those runs. She resumed on the Pakenham Synthetic on July 28 and settled handy, going 2.2 lengths slower than standard, which are the best last start benchmark figures of any runner and the second best that any horse in this race has produced. The Simon Zahra filly should have improvement to come at her second run this time in and will be prominent early on from barrier 5.
