HEADWALL can make it two wins from as many career starts when he steps out in the opener at Goulburn. The Matthew Smith-trained galloper took out his debut at Newcastle over the 900m on July 2, scoring by two lengths from Nonshalaant, while there was a five length gap back to the 3rd placegetter. Suspect he can measure up to Class 2 and he went 0.1 lengths slower than standard at his debut, which is better than what any horse in this race has produced.

This might be the one for THE PRES, who is as honest as they come. The five-year-old comes into this with four straight minor placings and has been unlucky in a few of those. At his most recent start he stepped out at Goulburn, where he couldn’t quite reel in Rebel County after racing wide and without cover throughout. With even luck in transit, he can pick up a deserved win here.
