BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No. 8 ZIPPY POWER ($3.20 bet365)
The Kris Lees-trained ZIPPY POWER sees the Gunnedah track for the first time today and on current form. Looks the one to beat here. Last start, the Protectionist filly came off her maiden win at Port Macquarie when she finished third in a BM58 Hcp over 1700m at Scone. She ran that out, 6.1 lengths slower than benchmark, the best in this field, while trying to lead all the way. Bailey Wheeler takes the reins today and after the claim, the filly carries just 53.5kgs today, a 4.5kg drop from last start. Bred to stay, the step-up in distance looks ideal here and with plenty of early pace in the race, may even look for a sit behind them today. At her peak after three runs back, she looks the testing material in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No. 7 JUST ONE LOOK ($8 bet365)
The Paul Perry-trained JUST ONE LOOK is in great touch this time in and looks set for another victory today. Last start, the Dawn Approach gelding did a lot of work early to cross from a wide draw and settle outside the leader. Still there on straightening, he fought on well but ran out of puff in the last 100m and finished fifth in the event. Seeing the Gunnedah track for the first time today, he is ideally drawn in gate two and maps to lead on settling. Clayton Gallagher remains on board and the three-year-old is worth another chance today at odds.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8: No. 4 MYEYESADOREYOU ($10 Unibet)
Paul Perry saddles-up MYEYESADOREYOU here who is in great form this preparation and looks a solid each-way chance in this contest. Last start, the Choisir filly made it three-straight podium finishes when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over the mile at Gosford. On a Heavy 10 that day, she ran the trip out, half a length quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up by 6 lengths. Ash Morgan is back in the saddle today as she also makes her track debut. She maps to settle worse than mid-field which is her normal racing style. She should be at her peak today after four starts back and looks great odds with the bagmen for this challenge. She is well worth an each-way ticket.
