BEST BET 🏆
Race 3: No.6 QUINTILLION
The Chris Waller-trained QUINTILLION is second-up today and looks set to break through here. Last start, the Deep Field gelding resumed after more than a year off the scene when he came from last to arrive in time for third prize in a 1400m Maiden at Newcastle. Fitter for that run, he draws much better to day in gate three and should settle a little closer to the speed today. Lee Magorrian is back for a second crack at winning with him and with a trouble-free run today, looks ready to pull it off.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.5 INVESTMENT
Joe Pride saddles-up INVESTMENT here who is in great touch of late and making her Hawkesbury debut today, looks the testing material in this contest. Last start, the well-bred So You Think filly showed plenty of fight when she broke through for her first win in a 1600m Maiden on a Heavy 8 at Gosford. Jay Ford gave her the run of the race and in the run home, she simply proved too strong in the end. Out of a Zabeel mare, this little lady has loads of potential and with Ford steering the ship again, she enough upside to get the job done here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8: No.5 GAGO
We end the day with one at odds as the Nathan Doyle-trained GAGO attempts to remain unbeaten at the track and looks well placed here to achieve that goal. Last start, the Zoustar gelding finished mid-field in a BM68 over 1500m at Newcastle. Ash Morgan said after the race he didn’t run out a strong 1500m which could be why Doyle drops him in distance today. He drops back to BM64 company here as Morgan sticks with him for the assignment. He draws well in the big field, jumping from gate five and maps to settle better than mid-field for the contest. Already a winner at the track, he is four starts into this current campaign and will be at his peak here. Just a little luck in running and we could see a positive outcome from our each-way investment today.
