Race 5 No. 3 NEV’S BOY – ($5)
The expected soft track conditions may aid NEV’S BOY in notching up yet another win.. Bruno Neto slowly but surely found a response from Nev’s Boy and kept the work up to him into the straight here three back. They’ve ground home the hardest to pick up a tenacious win over the 1200 metres. Was never a factor when rising to this trip at his following run before John Luttrell sent him around again over the six furlongs. Nev’s Boy settled by the tail before coming the deepest for Bruno, catching the eye late. Seems to mix his form a bit, however has drawn favorably while also boasting over this track and trip.

Race 4 No.14 STARCADIA – ($4)
Senior rider Siggy Carr retains the ride aboard the John Luttrell trained STARCADIA for race day. She asked of the filly during her most recent trial and Starcadia responded with some good dash out of the gates. She’s always been a bit hard doing and so Luttrell has taken the blinkers off for resumption in favour of the winkers. Her one and only start for her debut prep was far better than it reads, particularly given she missed the kick. Starcadia then became blocked for several runs into the straight with her momentum halted. Finished as well as anything when switched back to the inside late and this race looks no harder. Starcadia does seem to have some natural ability and Carr will be hoping to make full use of an inside gate.

Race 9 No. 7 THUNBERG – ($6)
Thunberg returns for Scott Brunton and who goes for the claim of Chelsea Baker. The team finds no small task in attempting to knock off the rampant Julius, however Thunberg comes in with proven ability. Not disgraced in either run last last prep, Brunton had given her a good break since. Couldn’t hold any slower during a recent trial and has drawn aplomb for Baker to make full use of her claim.
